Skeye carried out a large aerial survey for the government of Angola. The aim of the project was to map a large area of Luanda bordering the coast. The project area measured around 20 square kilometers. Over 130 ground control points were established in the area prior to starting the aerial survey. A GPS base station was setup on top of a hotel to be able to broadcast GPS correction signals in real time. With the Bird-Eye fixed wing unmanned aircraft over 12,000 images were taken at a height of 400 feet above ground level in 30 different flights. To process all the images a very powerful computer was acquired. This computer still needed almost 14 days to combine the images and to produce an orthophoto mosaic and a terrain model.
